Why SImmetry®?

How it works

The SImmetry sacroiliac fusion system offers your patients all the advantages of minimally invasive technology, along with the unique benefit of true SI fusion. The SImmetry implants are treated using resorbable blast media (RBM) for increased surface roughness, and improved osseointegration. They are available fully threaded or partially threaded, helping with controlled insertion into even the most complex of anatomy. The SImmetry procedure involves decortication, bone grafting, and fixation to help provide patients with immediate and long-term pain relief.

The SImmetry procedure can be a minimally invasive and permanent solution for your patients with
sacroiliac joint dysfunction.

The SImmetry procedure offers true fusion, rather than fixation alone. It provides patients suffering from pain due to SI joint dysfunction relief in both the short and long-term. Unlike other procedures available, the SImmetry SI fusion system uses proven orthopedic principles with bleeding bone, bone graft delivery, and threaded fixation to achieve arthrodesis. The result is greater stability, and long-lasting relief for your patients.

ROOM FOR DOUBT

Real fusion
Creates bleeding bone, biologically necessary for fusion

Simply stabilized
Relies on mechanical stabilization alone

Designed for fusion – right from the start
Decortication is an integral part of the SImmetry system

Fusion functionality is absent – or optional
Others skip the decortication step or, or only offer it as an add-on

Fixed and fused in place
Threaded implants, combined with fusion,
achieve rigidity, essential for pain relief1

Micromovement
Small movements over time may lead to lucency after fixation
alone which may lead to unrealized pain2

Goes the distance
Facilitates osseous bridging all the way across the sacroiliac joint3

Stops short
Lack of CT evidence of bridging bone leaves uncertainty

What does the SImmetry procedure offer your patients?

Not only does the SImmetry SI fusion system offer patients stability and pain relief, it also has proven outcomes such as minimal blood loss, shorter recovery time, and little-to-no disruption of critical muscles and ligaments stabilizing the SI joint.

SImmetry benefits:

  • Joint decortication to produce bleeding bone

  • Bone graft delivery to facilitate true arthrodesis

  • Fixation with threaded implants for long-term stability
